An introduction to playing Visual Memory

Make Visual Memory your next activity in the game library. Select every square that was shown. Selecting an unshown square ends the session. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Check the rule that explains your first action. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions.

Something to practise

Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use. Keep the objective visible.

What the game asks you to do

Select every square that was shown. Selecting an unshown square ends the session. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Return to the instructions when a step is unclear.

Start here and follow along

  1. Start a round and watch the highlighted cells.
  2. Wait until the board hides the pattern.
  3. Select the positions you remember; order does not matter.
  4. Complete the pattern to advance.

Your inputs

Use the on-screen controls with a mouse or touch. Keep the playing area visible while using these controls. A new-round button replaces the current round.

Work through an example

If the four corner squares were shown, select those four corners in any order. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Consider the next action carefully.

Pay attention to this rule

Unlike Sequence Memory, this game does not require the original order. Check the rule before repeating the action. Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round.
